The Chalet-HotelChalet-Hotel des Alpes is situated in Le Lac, Les Houches in the Chamonix valley, host to the first Mens World Cup Downhill and Slalom races of the millennium. The chalet has breathtaking views onto Mont Blanc and is an ideal location for self-drivers or fly-drivers.

Cable CarThe location is ideal for self-drivers or fly-drivers, being only a 50 minute motorway drive from Geneva Airport. As a base from which to explore the Pays du Mont Blanc, with its combined 700 kms of pistes & over 250 Ski lifts, we are perfectly placed between Argentière and Megève/St. Gervais, with easy access also to the Italian ski resort of Courmayeur via the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

A Room at The Chalet-Hotel des AlpesPrivately owned, and run by your hosts, Sonia and Nigel, the chalet-hotel has recently been refurbished to high standards to comply fully with up-to-date fire, safety and hygiene regulations.

Our 12 bedrooms are individually & personally furnished, mainly with ensuite facilities whilst a few have washbasins but share bathroom & shower room.

The spacious lounge is sumptuously furnished with a log fire, satellite T.V., video and CD/tape facilities a seperate TV lounge is equipped with satellite & video. We also have a competitively-priced fully-licenced bar and games room with 8' x 4' snooker/billiards/pool table.

Lounge Area

Outdoor shoes are not worn in the chalet-hotel, so please bring slippers with you.
A hearty breakfast of cereals, eggs, porridge, fresh bread, jam, fruit juice and tea & coffee is provided. A couple of days each week, we treat our guests to a full English cooked breakfast. Upon your return from a hard days skiing, you'll be welcomed back with hot drinks and freshly baked cakes or biscuits.

In the evenings, relax with your friends in the lounge for aperitifs and snacks before the delicious gourmet four-course dinner served with unlimited quality AOC wine and after-dinner coffee/chocolates. Vegetarians need have no worries as vegetarian cookery is one of our specialities. On one day a week, usually Wednesday, we take the day-off and ask you to fend for yourselves, although a buffet breakfast and afternoon tea will be left out for you the night before. This gives you the opportunity to try out one of the numerous restaurants in Chamonix; we will be pleased to help you in your choice and make reservations for you.
